Beast Mode Series Part 2

What’s going on?

It’s been some time since the last post, however I’m still cranking along.

I’ve finished a couple of more paintings for the Beastmode series and while it’s not necessarily done, I am going to take an intermission from it to work on some other ideas and to interject some variety into the mix.

So without further ado, here is the wolf painting finished, along with the lion and the stallion…

Currently I’m working on a painting of a tiger and a Muy Thai fighter going at it in a duel. I’m just doing study sketches of the tiger mostly and then the Muy Thai fighter will follow.  I’ll post my progress on that in my next blog post, so look out for that.

Take care for now. Stay warm in these cold winter temps!

Here it is for your viewing pleasure:

Due to a hectic schedule, I’m gonna keep this one short. Take care for now ☁️👑

Emerging Series Beast Mode and a Black Monk

Greetings ☁️👑

It’s been a long ass time since blogging. I’ve been so busy between work art and the gym (especially work putting in that overtime!), but rest assured I’ve been working hard on some new concepts and ideas that I would like to share. Also I got my canvas to start painting Untamed so I’m very excited about that

        **BEAST MODE SERIES**

I had the idea to do paintings of some animals in a similar fashion like they have on ancient warrior’s shields. I put a more realistic spin on the animals. Here’s what I came up with so far:

I’m not sure how many more I will do but I’ll definitely do a couple more.

**BLACK MONK**

I decided to fuck around and do an illustration of a  black monk just because. Bald and dangerous he is with the nunchakus. Watch out! Its not quite dont yet but it is a work in progress. Check it out:

That’s all for now. I will be continuing to put more content out as the months go by. I’m getting ready for a showing Nov 10& 11th so I’m aiming to have more out by then. Take care for now.

Next painting : Untamed

Greetings :

Granted this painting is not done yet, I have the underpainting study version done and I’m just working out the colors now…

I wanted to create a powerful and uninhibited type of work that reflects on what it’s like to not give a fuck of what people think about you or even what society thinks about you.

So without further Ado, Here is the underpainting for Untamed…

What better way to do it than with stallions, (aka uncastrated horses)? The genitals hanging out on the rearing horse helps drive the point home while the lightning helps reinforce their strength and power with utmost certainty.
Next to follow will be the color.  That’s for a different blog post though. It’s time for me to get going. I’ve got to get started on the day.

Take care for now ☁️👑

Branching out

Branching out in itself in a way is becoming a fabric in my life…Life becomes so involved and complex that I wonder how some people can be stuck in a bubble…I think we as humans are meant to evolve, mentally, spiritually, artistically, whatever…When I went to the gym 5 days a week back in the day, I found that doing the same exercises every time I went it would cause my body to get used to it too quick… but switching up my routine had far greater results… I think it’s the same way with life in general… seeking out new things is a lot more stimulating than doing the same monotonous routine… sometimes, the barrier of complacency is what keeps people from trying new things.. but once the feeling is shaken off it can produce great results.. that’s why I like having influences from multiple styles in art, and that’s why I listen to different types of music.. that’s why I’m going on vacation to DC in a few weeks…change is definitely good.

augh!

i hate creative burnout!!!! as im recovering , I have to move in a different artistic direction… Ironically, these burnouts remind me that there’s more to life than art. I worked out today, cleaned up, i played my guitar, i hung out with friends…Glad i balanced myself out…I suppose i needed to get away from the stress of coming up with hot ideas for projects. no pressure no pressure, but at the same time when im back to normal, slacking can go to hell!!!

Destined for greatness

Last night, I was in an introspective mood  while I was admiring the full moon, and in the middle of seemingly mindless contemplation, it gave me a reassuring metaphor for my dream of success…Doing my art, I’ve always felt that I was destined for greatness… I’ve felt that I would definitely be doing something big with my dream career of being an artist. but especially where I live, there doesn’t seem to be too much that really stimulates me like I’d like…They say that sometimes you gotta go far to find that place where you will find the open doors of opportunity to enter. Looking at that moon last nite gave me that feeling…that something so easily seen but yet is so far away seems to be that focal point for where I would like to be. It obviously comes with the pains and aches of hard work and sweat but the end result is always worth it. Time to go to the next level!

Being on point

It’s been too much time that’s gone by since visiting this blog last. Due in part to debating and analyzing whether or not what i was to write would be worth anything…but anyway,This winter seems to have been very beneficial to me in regards to getting work done and I am glad at the amount I’m accomplishing. As stated before I’m an artist trying to get his foot in the door. There’s always so much that goes through your head in regards to getting to that place where you can do what you love for a living, but as long as a plan is in place then that’s all that matters.

Speaking of plan, so far im on track with what i expected to get done with my projects… I started designing a logo to represent myself (go me!) and after i write this then it’s back to more work…. Been working on a piece that’s been taking me FOREVER to finish!!!! but, the process thus far has had it’s share of ups and downs, and I am only grateful for being part of it…It’s a digital painting of 3 female angels to be brief… but I’m liking it more and more i work on it…each piece I do is like a different relationship with it. sounds crazy , but it’s an artist thing I guess.

I’m planning to get alot done in the span of 365 days after my birthday. So far this is just the prelude to that, and i will keep the ball rolling.

ok back to work… later
