The Beast Mode Series -Part 1

Inspired by battle shields ala ancient Greek/Roman times…

The wolf isn’t finished yet, but progress shots still let you see the struggle πŸ˜‰

I have at least 2 more to do (for now) so enjoy these for now…I will do another post when I finish more of these.

Rose Petals and Crystals

Good Morning β˜οΈπŸ‘‘

It’s another day that has begun and what better thing to do than blog a new art entry? So here we go.

Recently, I finished a commission for a friend and I just wanted to post it here for your viewing pleasure. This has nothing to do with the current body of work I am focusing on, but it does scream of contrasts and duality which is what is usually prevalent in my work anyway.

I unfortunately havent seen my friend yet so i still have the piece. Since this piece, I’ve sworn off commissions for a while, so that I can concentrate on my current body of work.

As I’ve said in the previous post, I’m working on a painting of 2 stallions. Currently it’s in the color study phase , so its safe to say it’s moving along. I’m going to get moving as well and start my day. Take care for now!

You Can’t Change your Past…

…But you can avenge it.

This is an idea that I’ve pondered for a long time.

When you have regrets/bitterness about chances you never took, people who fucked you over or respect you never got, you eventually get to a place where you get fucking pissed off enough about it that you say ‘Enough is enough!’ Destroy all roadblocks in your way .and go get what you fucking want.

It’s a thing i see in life a lot of times that people just stop fighting for their happiness and walk away from creating a world that they would like to live in. I tell myself that I will not have that fate.

So the nature of this piece is just that. To shake off past defeats and reawaken the inner inferno that was filled with life , purpose and direction.

The knife represents the tools youre armed with to navigate this complex world while the blood on the knife represents the challenges and the battles of life. Lately, I’ve been trying to look at conflicts in life as nothing more than tests to see where your “armor” has weaknesses in them and it’s definitely helped a lot in my own life.

That’s all for now. I have one more piece I have to finish before my show on Saturday. I am confident I will get it done.

Until next time,

R.Mac

Leonard P. Zakim bridge commission

What’s going on ?

Im back again for another creative work update… I was recently commissioned by a coworker to do a painting of the Leonard P. Zakim bridge in Massachussetts…but with some of my R.Mac touch to it. You’ll see what I mean soon.

This co worker is actually from Somerville, Mass and also wanted some mention of his hometown in the painting. He also wanted some of the cosmic nebula type atmosphere as well… after some planning conceptualizing, color studying and finalization, this is what emerged from my brain’s gray matter:

So that is what came about of the commission(which he absolutely loved very much). Thanks in advance for taking the time to check out my blog. I have a few ideas that I’m working on now so I will be posting in the near future.

Take care for now,

-R.Mac

The Look of Royalty

Here’s a painting of the combined dollar sign/heart symbol which I appropriately titled Emblem because It has that dynasty /royal family look to it.

I want to cultivate an empire-like look in my work that doesn’t necessarily have to be “in your face” all the time, but that makes you feel like you’re part of a great civilization…that also has the supernatural overtones (which to me is a necessity in fantasy art). That goes in line with the concept of being so elevated you’re amongst gods.

It won’t be overnight, but I have faith in my abilities…

I’ll have some more new work to post in the future when I am finished developing my ideas.

Stay elevated for now. Until next time β˜πŸ‘‘

Consumed by Passion; Seduced by Wealth – The Ones That Got away

I had posted the question at the end of my previous blog post – Have you ever been romantically interested in someone (or someones) that you wish it worked out with but it didn’t?? I made a piece dedicated to the scenario called The Ones that Got Away. It’s something I’ve had on my mind to work on especially as it relates to certain falling-out scenarios pertaining to romantic interests and potential lovers and the lingering memories plus thoughts of “what if”.

Here are some pics of the work in progress…

The Ones that Got away – Pencil rendering. Honestly it took a while to get the composition that i wanted but when I stopped thinking so hard about it, it just came to me naturally. Go figure

The Ones that Got Away – Painting on Canvas in Progress

I really tried to capture the emotion of the man sitting on the bench looking at the feathers – which belongs to the angels flying away in the background. They represent the man’s past romantic and love interests that didn’t work out. As you can see, its is because of his loss that he is in quite a funk! Tamani, the goddess of love/passion is on looking at him with a look of sympathy on her face as if she wants to go over and give him a hug. That would definitely be a good idea because her hugs can heal broken hearts.

That’s all for now. Next blog post I will post the final version of the piece. I have updated my website with content from the current series. You can check it out at http://www.rmac-art.comΒ

    Until next time!

Consumed by Passion; Seduced by Wealth – Some symbol paintings

    Greetings,

I’m gearing up to start another painting as soon as I can…but in the meantime, I figured I would show some paintings I did for practice to get better. The paintings involve the Intertwined Dollar Sign Heart Symbol.

Red Flame, Blue Flame with symbol on the bowls.

That’s it for now… Some fun little things to keep the skills in use. I’ll give a hint of my next piece I’m working on with a question: Have you ever been romantically interested in someone (or someones) that you wish it worked out with but it didn’t?? I’ll leave you with that for now.

    Until next time!

The Mysterious Blades of the High Skies

    Good afternoon!

it’s been a couple of weeks since writing a blog entry, but I’ve been working on some new stuff. This blog post has to do with specific reoccurring element I’ve used in My artwork various times,.. It’s a pair of winged swords that I now refer to as The Mysterious Blades of the High Skies… I also call them The Skybourne Blades, Sworded Wings and Winged Swords.

    IMG_20150701_164405

Artistic origins of these weapons are from a sketch that has long been gone missing. it was during the whole rock star fashion trend that these were born because everything seemed to start having wings on it. For some reason, putting a blade on it just seemed to make sense.. and I love swords… I have named each sword…

I haven’t invented a legit legendary back story for these blades, but when I do , It will be epic!

here’s some other instances that these Blades have been used:

Centaur drawing which I’ve made into a t-shirt.. note the blades crossing..

    Panther In High Places.

That’s all for now…I can definitely say that these swords will be used again in future pieces…They’reΒ  at a basic level right now, but there’s opportunity for these swords to upgrade…

For now check out http://www.rmac-art.com for more artwork from me.

    Until Next time!
